Recently partnered with Children's social workers for financial assistance to 2 families. A teenage male diagnosed with aplastic anemia and whose mom reached out as they recently became homeless and had been living in a car. They needed assistance with a range of items like food, toiletries, clothing, etc. And a young boy admitted for a bone marrow transplant with a history or AML. The family has 3 siblings staying with an aunt as the mother is staying at the hospital. The family had a need for food and transportation assistance. July 15, 2025
Specialty Kenzie Kits throughout the year. May 10, 2025
The Delta Chapter of the Chi Tau Epsilon Honor Society (XTE) at DeSales University hosted a "Dancing with the Athletes" event where they collected donations for Kenzie Kits. The group assembled 30 bags to be donated to the Lehigh Valley Reilly Children's Hospital. Special thanks to Kenzie's cousin, Anna, for coordinating! February 8, 2025
Meet Maximo! Children's connected us to his family Maximo is a sweet 4-year-old diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia in January, during a 3-week inpatient hospitalization. He was previously healthy. His mom, who clean houses for a living, lost her job because she had to be by his side for 3 weeks at the hospital. He now needs blood and platelets 2 times a week to survive. He is currently admitted receiving a medical treatment called Immune Suppressive Therapy (IST) which is a 1-week hospitalization where he receives high intensity immune suppressant therapies and then about 18 months of outpatient therapies 1-2 times per week initially and hopefully tapering down to less frequently if treatment is successful. It has a 70% success rate. If not successful, he will need to go to bone marrow transplant but does not currently have any appropriate donors. His mom is struggling to pay rent right now due to losing her job. Fortunately, her husband was able to maintain work but they were a 2-income family already living below the poverty line on Medicaid and now dropped ot one income, so they are struggling to make ends meet. Our foundation will be supporting their rent this month. January 26, 2025
Through our partnership with Children's we were able to support a 17-year-old without stable housing, who relapsed on her aplastic anemia diagnosis as she hadn't been taking her meds as she had no breakfast in the morning. Through the support of the foundation, the social worker was able to buy her a variety of breakfast bars to keep on hand for helping with compliance. We were also able to help the social worker as otherwise there are not resources available for these types of obscure needs. December 17, 2024
Another deserving family identified by Children's Social Work team requested beds for the patient and his siblings. Thank you all for your ongoing donations that make this all possible. Oh and not to worry, we made sure not only to gift the family beds but also some very special requests from their special letter. December 16, 2024
Partnered with Children's National Hem/Onc Social Work Department to support one of the most deserving families this holiday season. A special thanks to our family for being Santa's little helpers in sponsoring kiddos to make this very special Kenzie Kit possible. September 13, 2024
We helped Sahily's mother pay electricity and rent this month. Due to the hardships many parents face while their children are receiving treatment at CNMC she has had to choose what to pay for - making a tough choice and being unable to purchase diapers. Thanks to the kindness of so many, we were able to purchase and deliver diapers for Sahily. July 22, 2024
A very special Kenzie Kit for a very special 6-year-old who is fighting Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma (DLBCL). Hoping this kit offers some smiles. June 11, 2024
This special Kenzie Kit will support a family who's 12-year-old boy is currently in the PICU. The family needs assistance with gas to get to and from the hospital. May 25, 2024
We partnered with CNMC social workers to meet the needs of 2 very special families. Meet this little cutie, Sahily, an 18-month-old with vascular anomaly/tumorous growth that CNMC is treating with weekly chemotherapy. She's had over 5 admissions and goes to clinic weekly, which has severely impacted her single mother's ability to work. December 18, 2023
Completed a drop off to Children's National Medical Center today in honor of Kenzie's 7th anniversary. Partnered with the Social Work Department to deliver 25 kits, restock their closet for families (which is otherwise paid for by the Social Workers), and sponsored 5 families this holiday season. October 1, 2023
Supported the Lifeline 100s Bike Rodeo today with PedalPower Kids. Enjoyed spending the day with all the kiddos!

Today marked a block party to kick off summer and also raise funds for the Mackenzie Rose Foundation. Friends and family gathered for fun, food, live music and raffles, with donations and all proceeds benefitting the foundation. We are thrilled to announce that the event raised nearly $1,000 in donations, and increased awareness in the community about Kenzie, the Mackenzie Rose Foundation, and its goals for helping others in the future. Special thanks are in order to Darrin and Nicole Govan for hosting this event, local artist b.en & the b.band for providing fun live music, Pherm Brewing Company for supplying some delicious adult beverages, and all the family, friends, and neighbors who stopped by to show their support. The Chi Tau Epsilon Honor Society (XTE Dance Honor Society 💃) at DeSales University in Center Valley, PA hosted a Dancing With the Athletes event last month with all proceeds going to the Foundation! To enter, XTE-Athlete pairs procured supplies for Kenzie-kits. 9 XTE members teamed up with 13 athletes to compete. XTE helped to raise $232 in addition to enough supplies to create 24 kits. 17 XTE members then made the kits last week and yesterday, while two members dropped off the kits at Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. Huge shoutout to the lovely people of XTE for putting on this event. We are forever grateful for your contributions in memory of Mackenzie Rose 🌹

We finished a very generous year and asked the staff from Children’s Oncology unit to let us know how we could help. Coffee! We coordinated with the Nurse Managers and were able to make the drop off this week. We are working with the Social Work team now to identify specific patient needs now. December 15, 2021
As we approach the 5th anniversary of Kenzie’s passing we focus on supporting others on this journey. Another successful drop off at CNMC! 30 Kenzie Kits, $600 in GrubHub/Uber Eats/DoorDash Gift Cards, $500 in Grocery Store Gift Cards, and a few toys for the unit. Discussed plans to support and sponsor families in need, as well as working towards a goal of donating sensory tablets to children with brain tumors (like Kenzie). Grateful to have met with the team of social workers to identify various needs. October 3, 2021

So excited for our second visit to Children’s National today! Dropping off another 25 Kenzie Kits! We will be meeting with the team of social workers for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders to also provide the unit with some requested items for the families…portable DVD players, new movies, handheld gaming devices, games, and memory making crafts! Thank you to all the generous donations that have made this possible! #foreverkenziestrong #childhoodcancerawareness July 10, 2021
We celebrated Mackenzie's heavenly 6thbirthday today. Thank you for all who help keep her memory alive along with us. March 5, 2021
It's Kenzie Kit Delivery Day! It is not lost on us that we made the delivery in the very same month that we first were hospitalized and received our diagnosis. 5 years later we were able to make some sense out of all of it! It's so surreal but we remember sitting in this very hospital planning how we would give back, so this feels so complete. Thank you #ChildrensNational for allowing us to be part of other families' journeys. A special, heartfelt thanks to everyone that has supported us over the past 5 years, participated in the Kenzie Rose Youth Triathlon, and donated to the Foundation. Thank you for being part of our healing and helping us provide a glimmer of light to families that are in their very own dark time. #kenziekits #mackenzierosefoundation #foreverkenziestrong March 3, 2021
